And I do agree that the RSS problem is largely an aesthetic one. And while that may sound simple enough to fix, obviously, it hasn't been.
Now Facebook and Twitter are fixing it for everyone by stabbing it repeatedly in the stomach.
Not gonna lie, I can't stand "RSS is Dying" posts. But, I have been using it less and less as my usage of Twitter has gone up. I have several Lists in place that more than likely alert me to news faster than me opening up Reeder on my iPhone.
I'd say RSS is more complacent than dying.
Twitter has killed RSS for me. It surfaces new content far better, it provides social curation, and it’s more convenient and less like an inbox.
Of course, I’m biased, but I think Proxlet turns Twitter into an even better RSS experience by cutting out the noise & even putting Twitter into a full “rssmode” (just showing tweets with links)
